Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, onion powder, salt, black pepper, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg. Mix until just combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the grill or skillet with cooking oil spray or brush.
  • Once hot, add the turkey patties to the grill or skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat buns on the grill or in a toaster.
  • Assemble the turkey burgers by placing a patty on each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and your choice of condiments.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize your turkey burgers with additional toppings such as avocado, cheese, or sautéed mushrooms.
For a healthier option, consider serving the burger without the bun, wrapped in lettuce instead.
Leftover cooked patties can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and can be reheated in the microwave or on the stovetop.
