Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Ensure it's well softened to avoid lumps.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping Such as Cool Whip.
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced Can substitute with other berries like raspberries or blueberries.
  • 1 cup strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the pretzels are well coated.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the 9x13 inch baking dish to form the crust.
  • Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a mixer until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until fully combined.
  • Fold in the whipped topping until well incorporated.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, smoothing it out evenly.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, mix the strawberry gelatin with 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until dissolved.
  • Add the cold water to the gelatin mixture and let it cool slightly.
  • Once cooled, add the sliced strawberries to the gelatin mixture and pour it over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
  • Refrigerate the salad for at least 2 hours or until the gelatin is set and firm.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

You can substitute fresh strawberries with other berries like raspberries or blueberries if desired.
Ensure the cream cheese is well softened to avoid lumps in the cheesecake layer.
This dish can be made a day in advance to allow for proper chilling.
