Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Slice the French baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Toast the baguette slices in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to ensure they do not burn.
While the bread is toasting, prepare the topping. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, honey, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Gently toss to mix.
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Spread a generous layer of softened goat cheese on each toasted slice of bread.
Top the goat cheese with a spoonful of the strawberry mixture.
Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining honey or balsamic vinegar if desired.
