Equipment

  • 1 Grill gas or charcoal
  • 1 Meat thermometer
  • 1 Tongs
  • 1 Small bowl
  • 1 Basting brush
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 Sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces ribeye steaks 1-inch thick, about 8 oz each
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1 bunch fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme, for garnish

Instructions

  • Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 450°F/232°C).
  • Mix the olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a small bowl.
  • Brush the olive oil mixture generously over both sides of each ribeye steak.
  • Once the grill is hot, place the steaks on the grill. Sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side for a medium-rare finish.
  • Avoid moving the steaks around while they cook. After flipping, brush them with any leftover olive oil mixture for extra flavor.
  • Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes.
  • After resting, slice the steaks against the grain and serve. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a more intense flavor, you can marinate the steaks in the olive oil mixture for a few hours or overnight.
Adjust the seasoning to your taste; feel free to add other herbs or spices you enjoy.
Serve with your favorite sides like grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
