Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Cook until it's no longer pink, then drain excess fat.
Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until softened.
Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens slightly.
In a mixing bowl, open the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters.
In the greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread half of the biscuit pieces evenly on the bottom.
Pour the sloppy joe mixture over the biscuit pieces, spreading it out evenly.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the sloppy joe mixture.
Top with the remaining biscuit pieces, spreading them out as evenly as possible.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley.
