Equipment

  • 1 grill or grill pan
  • 1 skewers metal or wooden (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before use)
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 tongs
  • 1 basting brush optional

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional
  • Lemon wedges for serving optional

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create the marinade.
  • Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • While the grill is heating up, thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer.
  • Once the grill is hot, place the skewers on the grill. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
