Equipment

  • 1 Large pot
  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Colander
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 4 Serving plates

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces linguine
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1/2 cup white wine Optional, can use chicken broth.
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Grated Parmesan cheese For serving, optional.

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet, cooking until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth) and lemon juice, simmering for an additional 2-3 minutes to reduce the sauce slightly.
  • Add the cooked linguine to the skillet. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  • Stir in the fresh parsley and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • Serve immediately with grated Parmesan cheese on top, if desired.

Notes

If you prefer, shrimp can be substituted with scallops or chicken.
Adjust the red pepper flakes to control the level of heat in the dish.
For a creamier sauce, consider adding a splash of heavy cream just before adding the parsley.
