Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 frying pan or wok
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 wooden spoon or spatula
  • 1 small saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 4 pieces green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, toss the cut chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly coated. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil, stirring well. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • Add the cooked chicken back into the frying pan, then pour the sauce over the chicken. Toss everything together until the chicken is well-coated in the sauce.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve hot!

For a spicier kick, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
