Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound sea scallops
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions
 

  • Start by patting the scallops and shrimp dry with a paper towel to ensure they sear properly. Season both with salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not burnt.
  • Carefully add the scallops to the skillet in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip the scallops over using tongs and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side until cooked through. Remove the scallops from the skillet and set them aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.
  • Return the scallops to the skillet along with the lemon juice and fresh parsley. Toss everything together gently and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  • Serve immediately on warm plates, garnishing with extra parsley if desired.

Ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding scallops for a nice sear.
