Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 count hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • optional crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and sliced pepperoni. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and mixed well.
  • Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the pepperoni pizza mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, topping with the other half.
