  • 2 mixing bowls
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 whisk or spatula
  • 1 Christmas tree cookie cutter
  • 12 toothpicks or lollipop sticks
  • 1 decorating bags or plastic bags for piping

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 12 pieces marshmallows
  • 12 pieces green candy melts optional for coating
  • assorted amount sprinkles for decoration
  • 12 pieces lollipop sticks or toothpicks

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • While the chocolate is melting, crush the peppermint candies using a rolling pin or place them in a zip-lock bag and crush with a heavy object.
  • Dip each marshmallow halfway into the melted chocolate, then immediately roll it in the crushed peppermint candies to coat.
  • Insert a lollipop stick or toothpick into the bottom of each marshmallow to create a handle.
  • On the prepared baking sheet, place the coated marshmallows upright as mini Christmas trees.
  • If you are using green candy melts, melt them in the microwave, then drizzle over the marshmallow trees for added color.
  • Decorate your Christmas tree treats with assorted sprinkles, placing them as ornaments on the trees.
  • Allow the treats to set at room temperature for about 10 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
