1 large pot

1 large skillet
1 wooden spoon
1 set measuring cups
1 set measuring spoons
1 grater
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with the garlic and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 3 minutes while stirring frequently.
Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm the pasta through.
Serve the pasta hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed mushrooms or grilled chicken to the pasta.
This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.
