Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 skillet or frying pan
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 tongs or spatula
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thinning)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, olive oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss them well until they are fully coated in the marinade. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 15 minutes for best results.
  • Preheat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add the marinated chicken to the skillet, including any leftover marinade. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on one side without moving it, until golden brown.
  • Flip the chicken pieces over and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  • (Optional) If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry, and add it to the skillet during the last few minutes of cooking. Stir until the sauce thickens.
  • Once cooked, remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

This dish can be served over rice, quinoa, or steamed vegetables.
