Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups cooked rice or pasta for serving

Instructions
 

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they become translucent.
  • Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms soften.
  • Push the vegetables to the side and add the ground beef to the center of the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the ground beef and mushroom mixture over cooked rice or pasta.

Notes

Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave before serving.
