  • 1 skewers soak them in water for 30 minutes if wooden

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice about 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh for garnish parsley optional

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk together until well blended.
  • Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Ensure that the shrimp are well coated with the mixture.
  • Cover the bowl and let the shrimp marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes for maximum flavor. You can marinate them for up to 2 hours if desired.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Once the grill is hot, thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers, leaving a little space between each shrimp.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  • Remove from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
  • Serve the grilled shrimp garnished with fresh parsley, if desired.

Notes

Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of red pepper flakes according to your preference.
Pair the grilled shrimp with a refreshing salad or over a bed of rice for a complete meal.
Leftover marinade can be used as a dressing for salads, but ensure it is cooked to avoid any cross-contamination from the raw shrimp.
