  • 1 skillet or frying pan
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 butter knife
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 knife

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices bread white, whole grain, or your choice.
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice.
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices tomato optional filling.
  • 4 slices cooked bacon optional filling.
  • 1/4 cup spinach leaves optional filling.

Instructions
 

  • Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread using a butter knife.
  • Place two slices of bread in the skillet, butter side down.
  • Layer two slices of cheese on top of each piece of bread.
  • Add optional fillings on top of the cheese if desired.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the bottom slice is golden brown.
  • Carefully flip the sandwiches using a spatula, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the other side is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before cutting them in half.
  • Serve while warm, and enjoy your grilled sandwich!

Notes

You can customize your grilled sandwich by adding various ingredients like avocado, sautéed vegetables, or different types of meats.
For extra crispiness, you can grill the sandwiches in a panini press if available.
