Equipment

  • 1 grill
  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 whisk or fork
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 tongs
  • 1 meat thermometer (optional)
  • 1 basting brush

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts (boneless, skinless) About 1.5 pounds.
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 204°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and coat them thoroughly with the seasoning mixture. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes (or up to 24 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor).
  • Once marinated, brush both sides of the chicken breasts with BBQ sauce.
  • Place the chicken on the preheated grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the chicken and baste the cooked side with more BBQ sauce. Cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight.
You can use bone-in chicken parts if preferred; just adjust the cooking time as they will take longer to cook.
Pair with grilled vegetables, corn on the cob, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
