Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, eggnog, and vanilla extract to the mixture, and beat until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The center may look slightly soft but will firm up as they cool.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
  • Once completely cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar.

Notes

You can add chopped nuts or white chocolate chips for extra flavor.
