- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water Adjust as needed.
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Whisk together until evenly mixed.
Add the olive oil to the flour mixture, and gradually pour in the warm water. Stir with a spoon until a dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and let them rest for about 10 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
After resting, take one ball of dough and roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it's about 1/4 inch thick. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
Heat a frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Place one rolled-out dough round into the hot pan.
Cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side or until lightly golden.
Remove from the pan and keep warm in a towel while you cook the remaining flatbreads.
Enjoy your homemade Easy Soft Flatbread fresh or reheated later!
You can customize the flatbread by adding herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on a skillet or microwave before serving.
These flatbreads can also be frozen; just separate with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
