Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 3 pieces green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean chili paste) Adjust spice level to taste.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Cooked rice For serving, optional.
  • Lettuce leaves For serving, optional.

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Break it up with a wooden spoon or spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat, if necessary.
  • Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, Gochujang, and chopped green onions. Mix well to combine and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if desired.
  • Serve the Korean ground beef hot over cooked rice or in lettuce leaves for wraps.
  • For extra nutrition, consider adding vegetables such as bell peppers or carrots while cooking the beef.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
