  • 1 whisk
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 fork
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 cooking spray or butter for greasing the waffle maker

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 8 slices bread Preferably thick slices like brioche or challah.

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  • Dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are fully coated. Allow any excess mixture to drip off.
  • Place the coated bread slice onto the preheated waffle maker. Close the lid and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions, usually about 4-5 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the remaining slices of bread, spraying or buttering the waffle maker as needed to prevent sticking.
  • Once all the waffles are cooked, serve warm with maple syrup, fresh fruit, and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes

You can customize the flavor by adding a little nutmeg or substituting the vanilla extract with almond extract.
For a fun twist, add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter before dipping the bread.
Leftover waffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat them in a toaster for a quick breakfast option.
