- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 pounds total.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- to taste fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Allow the broth to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir well to combine and simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over the top. Let them cook in the sauce for about 2 more minutes to heat through.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Serve this creamy garlic chicken with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables.
You can increase the garlic for a stronger flavor, or add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies in the sauce.
