Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries About 4 cups.
  • 1 medium orange Zest and juice required.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped Optional.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon Optional.

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or damaged berries.
  • Cut the orange in half and juice it, noting the amount of juice.
  • In a food processor or blender, combine the fresh cranberries, orange zest, and orange juice. Pulse until the mixture is coarsely chopped.
  • Add the granulated sugar to the cranberry mixture and pulse a few more times until well combined. Taste the relish; add more sugar if desired, depending on your sweetness preference.
  • If using, fold in the chopped walnuts and cinnamon into the relish with a spatula or spoon.
  • Transfer the cranberry relish to a mixing bowl and cover. Let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Refrigerate the relish for at least 1 hour before serving to enhance the flavors.

Notes

This cranberry relish can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
