- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken about 1 pound cooked chicken
- 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz can
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crispy bacon bits about 8 slices
- 1 bag frozen tater tots 32 oz bag
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- as needed green onions, chopped optional, for garnish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
Fold in the crispy bacon bits and half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the chicken mixture.
Spread the chicken mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Layer the frozen tater tots evenly over the chicken mixture.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top of the tater tots.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
