  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter For cooking.
  • Maple syrup For serving.

  • Powdered sugar Optional, for dusting.

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  • Preheat a frying pan or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the surface.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well soaked but not overly soggy.
  • Place the soaked slices onto the frying pan or griddle. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once cooked, remove the French toast from the pan and keep warm in a low oven if necessary.
  • Serve the French toast hot, drizzled with maple syrup and topped with fresh berries or a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using a pinch of nutmeg or a splash of orange zest in the egg mixture.
To make this recipe dairy-free, substitute the milk with almond or oat milk.
