  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

  • In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let them sit for 2 minutes to soften.
  • After 2 minutes, whisk the mixture until smooth and fully combined.
  • Stir in the unsalted butter until melted and incorporated.
  • Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, whisking until well mixed.
  • Allow the sauce to cool slightly before serving. It will thicken as it cools.
  • For storing, place the chocolate sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop before using the sauce.
