Equipment

  • 1 chocolate fountain
  • 1 double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 serving platters or bowls for dippers
  • 1 skewers or toothpicks

Ingredients

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 12 oz
  • 1 cup heavy cream 8 oz
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 12 pieces strawberries
  • 12 pieces marshmallows
  • 12 slices banana
  • 12 rods pretzel
  • 12 cubes pound cake

Instructions

  • Begin by setting up your chocolate fountain according to the manufacturer's instructions. Place it on a stable surface to avoid spills.
  • In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, and vegetable oil. Stir them well.
  • If using a microwave, heat the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth. If using a double boiler, stir continuously over simmering water until melted.
  • Once the chocolate mixture is fully melted and smooth, pour it into the reservoir of the chocolate fountain, following the manufacturer's guidance for amounts.
  • Turn on the chocolate fountain and allow the chocolate to start flowing. It may take a few minutes to reach the perfect flow.
  • While the chocolate is melting, prepare your dippers by arranging them on serving platters or bowls.
  • Once the fountain is flowing, use skewers or toothpicks to dip your chosen treats into the chocolate and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize the dippers based on your guests' preferences; options like cookies, rice crispy treats, or even dried fruits work well.
If you desire a richer chocolate flavor, dark chocolate can be used instead of semi-sweet.
Make sure to periodically check the chocolate levels and refill the fountain if necessary during the event.
The chocolate fountain can be set up ahead of time, but it’s best to start flowing the chocolate just before serving for the best experience.
