Equipment

  • 1 Baking sheet
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 Rubber spatula or spoon
  • 1 Fork
  • 1 Wire rack (optional)

Ingredients

  • 6 sheets matzo
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (about 6 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional, for topping)
  • sea salt (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the matzo sheets on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until slightly toasted. Remove and let cool.
  • Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted. Optionally, stir in vegetable oil for a smoother consistency.
  • Dip each piece of matzo into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to lift it out and let excess chocolate drip off.
  • Place the chocolate-covered matzo back on the parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with chopped nuts and sea salt if desired.
  • Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes until completely firm.
  • Once set, break the matzo into pieces and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

You can use dark, white, or milk chocolate according to your preference.
For added flavor, consider drizzling melted chocolate over the finished pieces or adding toppings like shredded coconut or colorful sprinkles.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
