Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 frying pan
  • 1 microwave-safe bowl
  • 1 fork or tongs

Ingredients

  • 12 strips bacon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil Optional, for smoother chocolate.
  • to taste sea salt Optional, for garnish.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lay the bacon strips in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the bacon for about 15-20 minutes or until crispy, turning halfway through for even cooking. Remove from the oven and allow to drain on paper towels.
  • While the bacon is cooling, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring in between until smooth. Optionally, stir in coconut oil for a smoother consistency.
  • Dip each bacon strip into the melted chocolate and allow excess chocolate to drip off. Place chocolate-covered bacon on a clean sheet of parchment paper.
  • If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each bacon strip before the chocolate sets.
  • Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature for about 15 minutes or place in the refrigerator for quicker setting.

Notes

For added flavor, you can drizzle white chocolate over the hardened dark chocolate.
You can experiment with different types of chocolate, such as milk chocolate or dark chocolate for richer flavor.
This recipe can be easily doubled or halved to suit your serving needs. Enjoy your sweet and salty delight!
