Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 electric mixer or whisk
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 serving dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated for safety) Heat-treat by baking at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.
  • 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup milk Optional for thinning.

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter. Use an electric mixer or whisk to beat them together until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the mixture. Beat until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the heat-treated flour and mix until just combined. If the dip is too thick, stir in milk a little at a time until it reaches your desired consistency.
  • Gently fold in the miniature chocolate chips using a spatula.
  • Transfer the dip to a serving dish and keep chilled until ready to serve.

Notes

To heat-treat flour, spread it on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to kill any potential bacteria.
Feel free to customize your dip by adding nuts or other types of chocolate.
