In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
Pour the cookie dough batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
