Equipment

  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper (optional)
  • 3 shallow bowls
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cooking thermometer (optional)
  • 1 tongs or a fork

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast tenderloins
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 spray cooking oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly with cooking oil spray.
  • Set up a breading station by placing the flour in the first shallow bowl. In the second bowl, whisk the eggs. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and oregano.
  • Take each chicken tender and first coat it in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs stick well.
  • Place the coated chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other. Lightly spray the tops with cooking oil spray to help them crisp up in the oven.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked thoroughly. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken tenders in buttermilk for 30 minutes before breading.
  • Serve with a variety of sauces, such as ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard.
