Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 grater
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese about 113g
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese about 113g
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour about 120g
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, all-purpose flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Once the mixture becomes too difficult to mix with a spoon, use your hands to knead the ingredients until a smooth dough forms.
  • Shape the dough into small balls, about the size of a tablespoon, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and crispy.
  • Alternatively, for a fried version, heat oil in a deep pan and fry the balls until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  • Remove from the oven or oil and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can add herbs like parsley or oregano for extra flavor.
Serve with a dipping sauce like marinara or ranch for a delightful experience.
Store leftover cheesy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness before serving again.
