Ingredients
  

  • 2 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs optional for crunch
  • to taste Fresh parsley for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Wash and core the apples. Cut them into round slices about 1/4 inch thick.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well until smooth.
  • Arrange the apple slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  • Take about a teaspoon of the cheese mixture and place it on the center of each apple slice. If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added texture.
  • Bake the apple slices in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the apples are slightly softened.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors, such as gouda or pepper jack.
For a sweeter twist, drizzle some honey or maple syrup on top after baking.
These bites can be served warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
