Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 stick
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, but not browned.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and stir well, cooking for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  • Gradually add the grated Parmesan cheese while stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
  • Next, add the shredded mozzarella cheese and continue to stir until fully melted and incorporated.
  • Season the sauce with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using). Stir to combine.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until it reaches your desired thickness.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately over your favorite pasta, chicken, or use as a dipping sauce.

Notes

For a stronger flavor, feel free to add more garlic or substitute with roasted garlic.
This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of cream or milk if it thickens too much.
To enhance the flavor, consider adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach right before serving.
