Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 rubber spatula
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Continue whisking until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing with a rubber spatula until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges look set. The centers may appear slightly underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
