Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • 1 muddler
  • 1 jigger (or measuring spoons)
  • 1 strainer
  • 4 glasses (serving)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 4 oz tequila Can substitute with vodka for a different flavor profile.
  • 2 oz triple sec
  • 2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz simple syrup Can substitute with agave syrup.
  • to taste lime wedges For garnish.
  • to taste fresh blackberries For garnish.
  • as needed ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blackberries and muddle them gently until they are broken down and juices are released.
  • Add the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled blackberries.
  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes and cover it. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to combine all ingredients and chill the mixture.
  • Strain the mixture into glasses filled with ice. You can use a fine-mesh strainer if you prefer a smoother drink without blackberry seeds.
  • Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and a few fresh blackberries on top.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

If you like a sweeter cocktail, feel free to add more simple syrup according to your taste.
You can substitute the tequila with vodka for a different flavor profile, although it won’t be a traditional margarita.
This recipe can easily be doubled or halved depending on your serving needs.
