Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans black beans 15 oz each, drained and rinsed.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa Mild or medium, based on preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Mexican blend.

  • optional chopped fresh cilantro For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, add the drained and rinsed black beans.
  • Using a fork or potato masher, mash the black beans until you reach your desired consistency (smooth or slightly chunky).
  • Add the sour cream, salsa, cumin, garlic powder, lime juice, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  • Fold in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
  • Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or pita bread.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding diced jalapeƱos or a splash of hot sauce to the mixture.
