Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices banana bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • to taste maple syrup for serving
  • to taste powdered sugar for serving, optional
  • to taste sliced bananas for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  • Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • Dip each slice of banana bread into the egg mixture, soaking both sides but ensuring they don't become too soggy.
  • Once the skillet is hot, place the soaked banana bread slices onto the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  • Add the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet if needed, and repeat with any remaining slices.
  • Serve warm topped with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and sliced bananas if desired.
  • To enhance the flavor, consider adding chopped walnuts or chocolate chips to the banana bread before baking.
