Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 food processor optional
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 8 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Olive oil spray For added crispiness.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, chives, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Using your hands, form the cheese mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. You should be able to make approximately 12-15 balls.
  • Set up a breading station: place the flour in one bowl, the beaten egg in another, and prepare a third bowl with breadcrumbs.
  • Take each cheese ball, coat it first in the flour, then dip it into the beaten egg, and finally roll it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  • Arrange the coated cheese balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  • Lightly spray the tops of the cheese balls with olive oil for extra crispiness.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a dipping sauce like marinara or a homemade herb-infused olive oil for added flavor.
Feel free to customize the herbs and spices to your liking, such as adding crushed red pepper for some heat.
These goat cheese balls can also be frozen before baking; just bake them for a few extra minutes when ready to serve.
