Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups plain yogurt Use plain yogurt with no added sugars or flavors for best results.
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust according to your preference.
  • to taste optional fresh mint or cucumber slices For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt and cold water.
  • Use a whisk or blender to mix the yogurt and water until smooth and well combined.
  • Add salt and blend again until the salt is fully dissolved.
  • Taste and adjust salt according to your preference.
  • Chill the Ayran in the refrigerator for a few minutes if desired.
  • Serve in glasses, garnished with fresh mint or cucumber slices if you like.

Notes

Ayran can be made thicker or thinner based on personal preference. For a thicker Ayran, reduce the amount of water.
Use plain yogurt with no added sugars or flavors for the best results.
Ayran is best served cold and can be a great accompaniment to spicy dishes, grilled meats, or with flatbreads.
