Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring cups
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 kitchen tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh okra, trimmed and sliced Fresh okra is recommended, but frozen okra can work as well; just ensure it’s thawed and drained properly.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal For extra crunch.

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced okra, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cornmeal. Toss until the okra is evenly coated.
  • Arrange the coated okra in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. You may need to do this in batches.
  • Cook the okra in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even crispiness.
  • Once cooked, remove the okra from the basket and allow to cool slightly before serving.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, consider adding cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning mix.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce, such as ranch or a spicy aioli, for an extra kick.
