- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs can use panko for extra crunch
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil optional, for extra crispiness
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of the seasonings.
In another bowl, whisk the egg. Add the trimmed green beans to the egg and toss to coat them evenly.
Remove the green beans from the egg mixture and transfer them to the breadcrumb mixture. Toss until all the beans are evenly coated with the breadcrumb mixture.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the coated green beans in the basket in a single layer.
Cook the green bean fries in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Once done, remove the green bean fries from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!
For added spice, you can incorporate cayenne pepper or chili powder into the breadcrumb mixture.
Make sure to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to achieve the best crispiness.
These green bean fries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the air fryer to regain crispiness.
