Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces bratwurst sausages Approximately 1 pound.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 4 pieces hot dog buns or brat buns
  • optional toppings sauerkraut, mustard, onions, or cheese.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • While the air fryer is heating, pat the bratwurst sausages dry with paper towels to achieve a crispy texture.
  • In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the spice mixture evenly over the bratwurst sausages.
  • Once the air fryer is preheated, place the sausages in the basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded for even cooking.
  • Cook the brats for 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through for even browning. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Remove the bratwurst from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Serve the brats on buns with your choice of toppings like sauerkraut, mustard, onions, or cheese.

Notes

You can also cook vegetables like bell peppers or onions in the air fryer while the brats are cooking for a complete meal.
If you prefer a little extra crispiness, you can give the brats an additional 1-2 minutes in the air fryer.
Freezing leftover brats is an option; just ensure they are stored properly in airtight containers.
